Cancer Statistics in Children

Cancer statistics in Kids:  Several types of cancers happen additionally over and over again in kids too. We will discuss the types of cancer and the percentage of ages of kids that affect commonly with it now.  Just about 10% of the kids are affected with a disease called immature growth of nerve cells called neuroblastoma, which is always a lethal type cancer that develops from the nervous tissues.  Roughly another 12% of the population of kids is affected with bone cancer.  Abnormally increased number of cancer cells in the bone, which may be either a benign type or may be a lethal type.  The patient may get a fracture from a slight fall and this is the symptom for bone cancer, as well as bone pain in the area.  This is one type of sarcoma type bone cancer. 

Nearly 11% of kids are affected with a cancer known as soft tissue sarcoma types.  These types of cancers develop from specific tissues in the body, which may be either muscle tissues or bone tissues of arms and legs. 
Approximately 6% of the kids get affected with lymphoma, which is formed in the immune system of the body called lymphatic system.  About 5% of the kids are affected with a cancer called Hodgkin’s disease or Hodgkin’s tumor, which is also a kind of cancer in the lymph tissues called lymphoma.  This cancer forms in the lymphocytes in the blood.  About 2% of the population of kids is affected with other types of cancers.

Almost 30% of the children are affected with blood cancer, especially in white blood cells called leukemia.  Leukemia may happen both in bone marrow and in blood by the increase in white blood counts to an abnormal number.  Around 14% of the kids are affected with a type of cancer that occurs in eyes happen due to growth of immature cancer cells in the retina called retinoblastoma, which is a rapidly developing cancer.  This cancer develops in the retina of the kids.  Retina is the portion of the eye, which detects the light from the outer source. About 10% of the kids’ population is affected with a cancer in the kidney called Wilm’s tumor.  This is one type of cancer in the nerve cells of the kidneys, occur mostly in children.
