Types of Cancer – Sarcoma, Carcinoma, Leukemia, and Lymphoma

Cancer – commonly considered as a life-threatening condition, only when it is not noticed until it is gotten grown mature.  In many cases, early detection of cancer will save the life.  Yearly checkups are very important to find it in the early stage.  Many think that cancer is just one disease condition, but it is not true.  Cancer occurs in many forms and conditions with malignant (lethal) and benign (curable) natures. By the types of cells of the disease and the characteristic features, it is of, generally of three types, such as carcinoma, sarcoma, lymphomas and leukemia.  Many types of visual examinations are there in the medical field and they are used to find out cancers of any type.  We will see about one by one now below.

Sarcoma:  This is one type of cancer, which will occur only in connective tissues of the human body.  The possible origin of this cancer may be any part of the body in general and they have the characteristic feature of invading any organ in the body.  The common occurrence will be blood and lymph vessels all over the body, muscle tissues, fibrous tissues, bone and bone cartilages, fat tissues, and so on. Ewing’s sarcoma and Kaposi’s sarcoma are the types of malignant sarcomas.

Carcinoma: A few types of cancers will arise on the epithelial tissues.  Epithelial tissues cover the integumentary system (skin) and also cover the interior organs of the body. This is a malignant new development of cancer cells.  Normal occurrence of this type of cancer will occur mainly in the urinary organs like penis, prostate gland, and urinary outlet, inside of the small intestine, and the epithelial lining of the nose.

Leukemia: The other name of this is blood cancer in colloquial form, as they form in the blood cells only, especially the white blood cells.  Bone marrow in the bone is the origin of formation of human blood and whenever leukemia forms there, the marrow will produce more white cells in an abnormal way and/or also produce undeveloped blood cells in that region of formation of cancer.  Blood test will confirm this cancer in many cases.

Lymphoma: Cancers arise from the lymphatic glands and vessels and nodes are called lymphomas.  Generally, lymphomas are malignant type.
