Volunteers Needed for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Volunteers Needed for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Donate your time to help end breast cancer

(Boston, MA) – Volunteers are needed for the 19th annual American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at the DCR Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade in Boston. Volunteers are needed the day before the walk, Saturday, October 1, to help prepare snack bags for our walkers, as well as help us set up for the following day’s event. On Sunday, October 2, volunteers are needed to help set up and clean up, cheer on walkers, and act as route monitors. Since its inception in 1993, nearly seven million walkers nationwide have raised more than $400 million to help fight breast cancer. In 2010 alone, more than 800,000 walkers across the country collected more than $60 million to support the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back. To volunteer, or for more information, call 1-800-227-2345, email strides_boston@cancer.org, or visit cancer.org/stridesonline.
