Cancer Spreading Process

Generally it is uncommon that cancer cells start to develop at the same time in many places in the body. Cancer cells start to develop starting from a particular area called primary area and spreads to the adjacent areas and to the nearby organs. Usually in three different ways, cancer cells start to grow and spread. They are 1. Direct growth 2. Via Lymphatic system 3. Via blood. Now we will see one by one now.

Direct Growth of Cancer: Cancer cells start to grow to the adjacent organs once it forms the basis in a particular area. This type of cancer spread is called direct growth.

Cancer spread via lymphatic system:  Lymph vessels are underneath the skin. Lymph vessels are tiny blood vessels. They are all over the body. Lymph vessels contain a liquid named as lymph. The main duty of lymphatic organs inside our body is to filter foreign products that are mixed in the blood or any toxic materials mixed in the blood. Lymph nodes perform this filtration process in the blood. If one gets infected by any bacteria, the lymphatic organs swell and start to swallow these bacteria, and so we feel some discomfort in some areas in our body, such as throat.

Cancer spread via blood: Whenever one cell gets cancer fragments and start to grow, it gets blood supply usually from the body, as like other areas of the body. When the cancer gets blood supply, the cancer cells start to mix with blood and are circulated throughout the body via blood and so cancer may spread to more organs from the source area.
