Body Fluids Examination

Cancer can only not be identified using blood tests, but also there are some other methods. They are visual examination of stools and urine from the body and visual examination of joint fluids, urine tests, and finally lumbar puncture. These are from the waste products that are produced by our body. These waste fluids can be analyzed visually to get the clue for any inflammation or infection or any presence of cancer inside the body. The method of analyzing urine for detecting any disease is called as urinalysis. We all know that physician often perform urinalysis when we go for regular health checkups too. Urine is a mixture of chemical substances and so the abnormal counts of any chemical in the urine can reveal the presence of cancer or any urinary tract infections.

Urinalysis also is helpful in detecting diabetes too, as the patient with diabetes will be with high blood sugar count in their urine. Sometimes, the patient may have high protein in the urine and this may due to any kidney disease. If urine contains the presence of high number of white blood cells, then it is concluded that the patient has any infection. Urinalysis is also helpful in detecting any bleeding in the interior organs and in this state the patient will have more red blood cells in his or her body.

Bleeding is also a symptom for presence of any tumor or any cancers. Analyzing the fluids present in the chest may reveal the presence of any abnormalities in the chest. Any abnormalities in the abdomen or joints can also be revealed by checking the fluids if any present in those areas. Spinal tap or lumbar puncture is a method of visually analyzing spinal fluid using a long needle by inserting it between vertebral bones. The removed spinal fluid is checked for any presence of abnormalities. Before spinal tap, the patient is given a local anesthetic for making the area to be with numbness.
