MRI Scan for Cancer
CT scan is less perefect visual examination method comparing magnetic resonance imaging method, in short is it called as MRI. Even if the images of an MRI scan looks like CT scan, x-ray application is not used in this test. Body vibrations are recorded by this equipment by utilizing effective magnetic field. Greatly useful body part images are taken by MRI device by assessing the response of the magnetic field and the images can be monitored in a computer screen.
Advantages of MRI and Cancer Detection
The main beneficial factor of MRI scan is that it is handled without any x-ray application in it like other scans. In CT scans, only cross section images can be taken, but in MRI, images from all sides, such as frontside, backside, and right to left side images can also be captured. A physician can monitor a patient's body part in all angles in MRI scanning. The quality of the image is greater than a CT scan.
Disadvantages of MRI
Some patients who are already wearing pacemakers for their heart disabilities or any other devices, such as pain pumps may be affected by MRI scanning. The reason is the usage of intense magnetic field in the MRI scan. Other than this bad effect, MRI does a great job in medical visual examination in the medical field. Ultrasound is the next topic we are going to deal about next. It is a noninvasive scanning method for visual examinations for diagnosing diseases.
